This 1939 newspaper article was found in Basil's photo album. It was obviously used to inspire his design.
This article was also found in his album. This car, built by a high school student in Chicago, must have been an inspiration of the streamline concept. Notice the rear engine design wich was used in the Teardrop.
Here is a shot of the construction of Basil's shop. I am not sure of the timeline as I believe that the teardrop may have been started before the start of shop at John Norton's house. Nevertheless there were numerous modifications performed here.
What would a shop be without a workbench. Check out the style of the hat hanging in the top left corner.
